Before your day
After booking, email Angie at least five photos you love. She chooses the one that will work best, crops it and prints it ready for you.

Get to know each other, then start with composition and construction sketches.

Basic construction and shading, step by step.

Rendering: building tone, texture and likeness.

Finishing and polishing techniques, until your portrait is done.

A$2,000 for the day.
Booking more than 30 days ahead? Reserve with A$500; the rest is due seven days before.
Angie confirms every booking personally, usually the same day. If she can't come to you, choose another date or get a full refund.
Book your portrait dayWant to finish a painting? Book four sessions for A$7,000 and save A$1,000 on four separate days. Painting materials are included. You pay A$2,000 for session one, then choose within 48 hours whether to continue.

Good to know.
I've never drawn before. Is this really for me?
Yes. The day is made for complete beginners. Angie demonstrates each step on her own sheet beside you, so you always know what to do next.
Will it look like them?
Angie plans the day so you finish your portrait, and she may add a few guiding marks to help you along. How close the likeness gets depends on the photo and where you're starting from, which is why Angie chooses your reference with you before the day.
What photos do I need?
At least five photos of the person or pet, emailed no later than five days before your session. Clear eyes, soft light from one side and the face filling most of the picture work best. Angie picks the best one and prints it for you.
Can I draw my pet, a child, or someone who has passed?
Yes, all of them. Angie will work gently with whatever photos you have.
What do I need at home?
A table, a chair each, good light and a quiet four hours. Angie brings everything else. If home doesn't suit, a private studio can be arranged for A$500 extra.
Where does Angie travel?
Anywhere from Mandurah to Alkimos, within about an hour of the Perth CBD.
Can I change my date?
Yes. One date change is free with at least seven days' notice. If Angie can't come to you, you can choose another date or get a full refund.
Can I give this as a gift?
Yes. A gift certificate lets them choose their own date. See gift certificates.
What happens after I pay?
You get a confirmation email straight away. Angie gets in touch, usually the same day, to confirm your address and ask for your photos. Read the booking terms.
